Summer Activities

Hi guys, what have you been up to?

I have had a busy summer so far. I moved to Charleston. We have been exploring lots of new places. I can't believe how much there is to do in here! We found the waterparks (there are 6 of them here), we went to Patriots Point, Sullivan's Island, Blackbeard's Cove, and of course, the mall and bookstore!!

I found a great job teaching fourth grade at a school called Newington Elementary School. My classes will be single gender. This means one class is all boys, the other class is all girls. Very interesting! I'm reading several Nicholas Sparks books and one book for school called Why Gender Matters.

You are going to love your new GT teacher, Mrs. Dionisio. She is very technology savy as well. Some of you have already met her when she came to visit my classrooms. We are friends, and I will help her get your new e-class set up if she needs it.

Pelicans game

I am so excited about Education Day at the Pelican's field. You guys are so lucky that the 5th grade teachers are letting you have this experience. This will be your last field trip as an elementary student. Remember to be your best as you represent Waccamaw Elementary School. When you get back, I want you to post a comment telling me all about the experience in detail. Show don't tell :)

Multigenre Reports

We are in the final stages of creating our presentations for our Multigenre reports. How much more do you have to do? Tell us your topic. Will you be ready by Tuesday to start presentations? Everyone really needs to bring a flash drive or CD to save their work on.

Field Day

Yesterday I worked the sponge relay for the CD-2nd graders. Wow, that was a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to today with the 3rd - 5th grade. Field Day is like the end of the year celebration for many. It's a time to just have fun with your students and friends. I hope everyone enjoys the day as much as I will.
